My Saturday night started out just like any other, Lizzie and I hanging out, drinking wine and jamming to Just Dance 3.
We decided to spice it up a little by going out for dinner at Beyond the Edge.
Here we were delighted to find that they had a 2-for-1 special. Perfect! We shared a yummy BBQ Quesadilla and a few beers.
It was here that I spotted Jon, a contestant on Bravo's Shear Genius.
It was also where an older gentleman stumbled next to the chair next to me and asked if I liked boys. Apparently Lizzie and I looked like a hot couple. (It is East Nashville).
Shortly thereafter, said older gentleman got kicked out of the bar, and we got free drinks for our troubles.
Sweet!
We made our way to a couple more bars where we made fast friends with a lovely group of friendly and outgoing men. It was here that we began our age guessing game. The object is to guess the subject's age. Obviously. Our first subject I guessed above 35, Lizzie guessed below. The man was 35. Shots for both of us...and a shot for our new outgoing friend who did the asking.
We made our way to another bar where we met another group of guys. These guys invited us to a dive bar I had never even heard of! It also happens to be right around the corner. What?!
The place is definitely a hole-in-the-wall karaoke bar, and it was packed! I felt like I had been given a Christmas present.
We were greeted with the following serenades:
Please don't watch these videos if you are my parents.
Or any adult...
Classy choices by the very short, very old barmaid who sang them.
Lizzie and I kept it PG13 with a rousing rendition of Build Me Up Buttercup. Pretty spectacular, random night.
